There is much to consider before buying a home. Taking time to educate yourself in the home buying process is important to the long-term enjoyment of your home.

5 Steps to Successful Homebuying

Pre Qualify

As a buyer, it’s smart to get pre-qualified before beginning your home search. Knowing exactly how much you can comfortably spend on a home reduces the potential frustration of looking at homes beyond your means.

It also affords you leverage when the Seller is considering multiple offers. Being pre-qualified is like having cash in hand, indicative of being fully ready to go all-in.

Wish List

This is to better understand your wants and needs.  It’s easy to browse pictures and note things you like. Let’s really uncover what suits your wants and needs.

To help, take a look at this file, read through it, answer questions, and see if you can get a clearer picture of what your heart desires. Send to me. I’d love to see what you’d like in your home.

Search Process

Together we’ll find homes that fit your lifestyle, budget and future plans. Seeing a gorgeous home is generally the catalyst for wanting to look at more homes.

With your Wish List I can begin the search. You too can browse homes that are currently active on the market, click here.

Negotiation

Several phases of the transaction will require negotiating. What makes me a professional is my ability to close a deal from the first conversation with the other parties; and, my ability to find an agreement on the terms and create happy clients the day after closing.

I advocate for you, and yet my experience combined with knowledge helps to protect yours and the sellers’ interests. At the end of the day, this is a relationship, not a competition. Having great communication allows for both parties to feel they’ve won.

Contract to Close

I’ll walk you through each step from the beginning to the end. After all, navigating the transaction, negotiating, keeping us on track, informing and following up with all the parties is my job.  Let me work for you.

During the process of purchasing a home there are many people involved.

Lenders/Mortgage Brokers

I work with knowledgable and friendly Lenders.  Many host weekly Zoom meetings keeping agents and clients informed on market updates, and all are available to clients within hours. I’d be happy to provide an introduction to a few of my skilled Lenders and Mortgage Brokers.

Contractors

When it comes time to deal with the inspection process, I’ve a list of certified and licensed contractors, electricians, engineers, arborists, handy men/women, plumbers, roofers, and other skilled craft workers ready and able to provide their service.

Escrow Officers

There are many Title Companies to choose from. I work with teams that are strong communicators, pro-active, highly productive and great at their job, and who also follow-up and track the process. It’s vital to get this part of the transaction done right. And I have great people on my side.
